Here at Foot2Afrika we would like to welcome you to the theatre of adventures and dreams. We have been practicing for years and now use our expertise to share and create special experiences for others. Foot2Afrika Adventurers commenced operations in 2006, trading initially as a community volunteering and adventurers organization. The company was founded by two Tanzanians, Emmason Godson and Sadock Johnson, who set about offering the discerning volunteers project placements and cheaper accommodation. Traveller tailored quality adventure safaris to the more intimate and exclusive safari camps dotted around the premier wilderness regions on the East African areas also began. Over the years, Foot2Afrika Adventurers has grown into a successful small business offering affordable volunteering project placements with accommodation and unique journeys, personally designed in conjunction with the premier safari camps, lodges and boutique hotels in East Africa. Johnson, passionate about wildlife started when he volunteered for two years in Uganda to study the Mountain Gorilla. Having then found his vocation he returned to the Jane Goodall Institute and completed his BSc in Zoology. It wasn’t long before he returned to Tanzania to run his own wildlife research project studying endangered species. In his own words these were an amazing three years, living and working in Tanzanian National Parks. 'I loved life in the bush, working with these relatively unknown carnivores, teaching the students Science every week and being part of the whole community'. Johnson also found time to complete his antomology book that’s used now in wildlife school in Tanzania. At the end of the three years he was asked to take over a project for one year in the Ruhaa National Park studying the behaviour of adolescent male elephants as they leave the social and tight-knit structure of their natal herd. 'This has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth and a real privilege to study such an incredible animal as Africa’s majestic elephants'. Once the project had finished Johnson moved to Kenya and worked as a safari Guide. His knowledge and passion for the region eventually led him to be the best Safari guide, and he was appointed head guide trainer for Escape 2 Africa Safari Company, the largest eco-tourism operator in the region. He currently organizes and leads the student group tours teaching them all about African culture and bush life. Johnson specializes in interpreting animal behaviour, but equally enjoys African legends and stories. He has a keen sense of humour and is a gifted storyteller. He is father to hundreds of children at the orphanages(www.kichijo.com).(www.kilimanjaro-streetchildren.com) For more about Johnson, meet him in the bush…. The company is jointly owned and managed by Emmason Godson. Emmason has been with the tourism industry since the early 90s, becoming a partner with Johnson in early 2000. He has travelled extensively around the globe - from Africa and beyond. Emmason is a Rastafarian and musician who always enjoys sharing celebrations and songs with tired clients on safari. Like Johnson, Emmason uses his spare time to teach children at our orphanages and work on other projects we support. With many years of experience, an encyclopedic knowledge of the wilderness and an unwavering passion and enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation, Emmason is the ideal guide to accompany you on your safari. He knows where to find the animals you have come so far to see, and interprets the language and the signs of the wild, adding immeasurably to your enjoyment. Emmason is also good company - with his cheerful, relaxed nature and great sense of humour you can look forward to an adventure of a lifetime.
